Directions-Brine Shrimp Eggs:
To hatch eggs successfully you need a hatching container (cone shaped is best, an upside down 2-liter plastic drink bottle with the bottom cut out works with a stand or handle), a small air pump or air supply from existing pump, air tubing, heat lamp or small aquarium heater and a thermometer. Use 4 teaspoons of kitchen salt per I liter of water and I teaspoon of Brine Shrimp Eggs per 1 liter of water. See diagram on reverse side for set up suggestions. Temperature during hatching 28-30°C Add the aquarium heater to maintain the 28°C temperature through the incubation period. DO NOT exceed 30°C, as improper temperature control is the main reason for a bad hatch. Add the air line to the bottom of the hatching vessel. An air stone is not recommended. Make sure air keeps eggs in suspension and check temperature every few hours. Eggs will hatch into very tiny, nearly microscopic "Nauplii" (babies) in 18 to 30 hours. You can harvest by removing the air tube and waiting two to five minutes for the nauplii (will be orange near bottom of cone) to come to the bottom of the cone. After 24 hours stop aeration and wait 10 minutes until nauplii settle to the bottom. Syphon the nauplii through a sieve, rinse with tap water and feed to your fish.
