Water changing set
Change water without the difficulty of carrying buckets
Easy to use
- A powerful water jet pump siphons water out of the aquarium even when the aquarium is located lower than the water outlet
- Refills the aquarium simply.
Fully equipped
- Easy floor cleaning with sediment bell
- With JBL ClipSafe hose clip to safely secure the hose to the aquarium.
- With ball joint on suction end
Use:
- Connect the water jet pump to a water tap overa drain. The metal adapters are for connection to a perlator, internal thread 22x1 or 24x1.
Without adapter, connect to 3/4" hose thread.
[A] Unscrew the perlator, [B] Screw in the metal adapter with perlator washer, [C] Screw on water jet pump with washer
Push the wide piece of the hose onto the bottom end of the water jet pump and cut off so that it ends about 5cm above the drain (splash protection).
- Connect the long suction hose with screw connection to the suction side of the water jet pump.
- Connect the stopcock to the other end of the suction hose.
- Connect the stopcock and sediment bell to the short hose piece.
- Hang the sediment bell in the aquarium and secure the hose to the edge of the aquarium with the "ClipSafe".
- Set the stopcock at the bottom end of the water jet pump to through-flow and open the tap fully. The pressure of the mains water flowing past siphons the water out of the aquarium.
- Using the sediment bell, sediment can be sucked up off the floor of the aquarium whilst the water is being siphoned off.
- To refill, secure the sediment bell with hose to the ClipSafe and connect the stopcock to the water jet pump. Mains water will now flow into the aquarium. To condition the water, first add JBL Biotopol to the aquarium according to the amount of fresh water to be added.
- When the aquarium has been filled to the required level, close the stopcock to stop the flow of water. Then turn off the tap immediately and open the stopcock on the water jet pump to release pressure on the hose. The stopcock on the hose should only be used to turn off the flow of water for a short time (a few minutes!)!
* To pump out water, about 2 liters of mains water are required per liter of aquarium water. If the aquarium is positioned higher than the drain, the mains tap can be turned off after the suction hose has been filled. Due to the force of gravity, the water will then run out of the aquarium.
