Skimmer Beast are protein skimmers designed for high performance. Air and water are mixed together by a very highly efficient, patented Injection system. Water and Air are drawn into the Inlet of the pump, where the special multi-comp Impeller chops the air into very fine bubbles. Huge quantities of air can be mixed with water very efficiently this way. The water is pumped into the reaction chamber, where high contact time is observed due to the very fine bubbles and its counter current design. The very fine bubbles held in the reaction tube, collect proteins and other organic compounds on their surface. That’s why having very fine bubbles increases its performance; there is increased contact time by having finer air mix. The proteins and organic matter collect into a scum and are pushed upward into the collection cup. The Collection cup is easily removed for cleaning or it has a self emptying drain plug. Removing such waste through the use of a protein skimmer, increases water quality. Organic waste is removed before it has a chance to break down and pollute the water.
